You can change your WhatsApp theme in 2 methods
There's also a third method exclusive for XIAOMI or MI users 🤗 it's more simpler and easy. So check at the bottom of article. 🕴️🕴️
The 1st one is simple. And the other is a bit complicated
Method 1
This app comes with many useful features like

HOW DO I GET THAT APP?
It's simple you can install that as a regular application
download the application from here
After you download is completed, uninstall your original WhatsApp app. Don't worry you take a backup of your messages. Go to your WhatsApp settings and click on CHAT and then on CHAT backup. After your backup is completed, uninstall it and install the download application and register in it as you've done before. And then go to the plus settings and the you can find a lot of customisation options.
METHOD 2:
This is a bit complicated as it needs root access
ROOT your Mobile at your own risk.

So after your device is rooted, you should install the application- SUBSTRATUM THEME
YOU CAN GET IT FROM GOOGLE PLAY FROM Here
After your installation just Grant it the root permissions and then go to the store on the top left corner and click on other tweaks. They to call find the E What's application or you can simply search it on play store. Once you have installed it apply the theme with your desired colors. And congrats you have successfully changed your WhatsApp theme.
But in this method you won't get much customisation feature as you get in WhatsApp plus. So i recommend you to use WhatsApp plus version.
